Short distances in the heart of German’s capital: Interview in Fujitsu’s Liaison Office Berlin

It was agreed in June in Munich, the capital of the Free State of Bavaria – during the Munich Cyber Dialogue. Now it was held in Berlin-Mitte, in the liaison office of Fujitsu at the Pariser Platz in the heart of the capital of the Federal Republic of Germany. Surrounded by the Brandenburg Gate, the American and French Embassy and the famous Hotel Adlon. R. Uwe Proll, chief editor and publisher of the newspaper Behörden Spiegel, with a circulation of 112,000 the biggest German-wide monthly newspaper for the public sector, visited us.

He was joined by Florian Lindemann, Head of the publishers Cyber Academy and project manager of the Munich Cyber Dialogue. They questioned Dr. Rolf Werner, CEO and Head of Central Europe, Andreas Kleinknecht, Head of German Public Sector Sales and Jochen Michels, Head of Public Affairs and Lead of the Berlin Liaison Office.

The experienced journalist Proll was interested in Fujitsu’s corporate policy in the CE-region and the strategic objectives of our company. Beneath this, he focused on our specific positioning in the Public Sector. Rolf Werner and Andreas Kleinknecht could inform him about these topics very well. They showed different perspectives due to their current responsibilities at Fujitsu and their former experiences. They informed him about Fujitsu’s clear focus on services and solutions while maintaining the strengths in the product business. They also presented the enormous expertise and resources that Fujitsu has in Germany. Additionally, they presented the results of the study “The digital tightrope: obstacles and contradictions of digitization in Germany and Europe“, which was publishes by Fujitsu. R. Uwe Proll was particularly interested in the international comparison as well as the specific results for the Public Sector.

The Chief editor also received a first insight into the plans for the Fujitsu Forum 2016 in Munich and the newly established Congress for Digital Government, which Fujitsu organizes on the 14 and 15th February 2017 in Berlin.
