FUJITSU x86 Server – The “Virtualization Games”

The weather outside was hot, the sun was shining brightly, but high-performers are not afraid of unfavorable conditions when it comes to show what they can – in the long run, air conditioning on the race track (quite actually the PRIMERGY performance laboratories) helped to cool down even the toughest stars.

In five different categories of the same discipline the following stars entered the arena: The FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX2540 M1, the FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2, the FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2800B2 and last but not least the FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2800E2. It was intense, it took a lot of preparation, but as we all know, great trainers always get good results with their athletes. New in this run was the use of a complete new hypervisor in the competitive surrounding of the VMmark 2.x benchmark (“virtualization games”): the VMware ESXi 6.0.

We are proud to not only just announce victories in the respective category, no, also the team assessment could be taken to a new level: As of September 1st, 2015 Fujitsu holds five world records in this time frames’ “virtualization games” (the VMware VMmark 2.x benchmark) as follows:

  • FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX2540 M1 –
World best 2-socket virtualization platform (matched pair) [1]
  • FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2800B2 –
World best 8-socket virtualization platform / best matched pair overall[2]
  • FUJITSU Server PRIMERGY RX4770 M2 –
World best 4-socket virtualization platform (matched pair)[3]
  • FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2800E2 (8 x 2-way partitions) –
    World best virtualization platform[4]
  • FUJITSU Server PRIMEQUEST 2800E2 (4 x 4-way partitions) –
World best 4-socket virtualization platform overall[5]

We congratulate everyone who was involved!
