Walter is working as an Industry 4.0 Evangelist and currently active in the area of analytics, machine learning, quantum computing, and distributed ledger technologies.

In addition he leverages Fujitsu’s manufacturing experience in its German factory in Augsburg and represents the company in zd.b (Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern) and DIN (Deutsches Institut für Normung) workgroups on edge and cloud to cloud communication standards for manufacturing.

Walter is looking back on a long career in the IT industry in areas like OpenStack cloud computing, Ceph software defined cloud / object storage, data protection, 3D graphics, and high performance computing.

He ran a professional services business development group that laid the foundation for Fujitsu Siemens’s professional services portfolio including a consulting training program, an ROI financial service, and a storage pay as you use model.

In 2015 he was recognised as Fujitsu Distinguished Engineer.
